Privacy Policy

Simple Smart TV Remote ("the app") is published by WDD Apps, Sweden. This policy explains what the app collects and what it does not.

1. What stays on your device

The app talks to your TV directly over your local network. Nothing about what you watch, which apps you open, or which buttons you press on your TV is sent to us or to anyone else.

The following is stored only on your device and is never transmitted:

• The name, model and local network address of TVs you have connected to
• The pairing token your TV issues so it recognises the app next time
• The list of apps your TV reports as installed

Removing a TV in the app, or deleting the app, removes this data.

2. What we collect

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how it is used, so we can improve it. This collects:

• Usage data — which screens are opened and which controls are used, and whether a connection to a TV succeeded or failed and why
• Device and app information — device model, operating system version, app version, language and region
• An app instance identifier — a random identifier for this installation, reset if you delete and reinstall the app
• Approximate location — derived by Google from your IP address, at country or region level only

This data is not linked to your identity. The app has no accounts, asks for no personal details, uses no advertising identifier, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

We never collect your TV's name or network address, and never any record of your viewing.

3. Why we collect it

To see which features are used, to find crashes and connection problems, and to decide what to build next. Nothing more. The data is never sold or shared for advertising.

4. Who processes it

Google Ireland Limited acts as our processor for Firebase Analytics. Google's own handling of this data is described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

5. Local network access

The app asks permission to access devices on your local network. This is required to find and control your TV, and is used for nothing else.

6. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Sweden, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

Because the analytics data is not linked to your identity, we usually cannot tell which records are yours. If you contact us we will do what we can to help.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
